NEWS RELEASE July 24th, 2008 Lyndon Bode - The Fundraising Underdog Lyndon Bode (Pronounced BO dee) Democrat Candidate for the Missouri 9th Congressional District announced today that he feels like he is the Fundraising Underdog in the race for the Missouri 9th Congressional District. While his campaign has brought in over $120,000 toward their goal of $150,000 he looks to other possible campaigns which he anticipates will probably outspend him two or three times to one here in the Democrat Primary on August 5th. Lyndon Bode notes that there are 9 candidates in the Democrat and Republican race for the Missouri 9th Congressional District. One of the republican candidates has lent their campaign $250,000. Bode is glad to say that his campaign is debt free and feels that our United States Government needs to work toward that goal too. Bode said that this campaign for congress is a wide open race. We have been able to put together a well organized and efficient campaign effort in the 25 counties that make up the 9th Congressional District. Just recently we received the Missouri Right-to-Life Political Action Committee endorsement. There is no doubt that we are the more conservative of the four democrats running. When we set up our campaign efforts we knew that even though our goal was $150,000 we would probably be outspent and out fundraised. Our goal has been to out maneuver our opponents and by starting early in January we feel we have been able to do just that. Lyndon Bode is currently serving his 14th year as Marion County Presiding Commissioner. He is 44 years old, married and has two young daughters. They live in rural Marion County near the small town of West Ely. He has also served as the State President of the Missouri County Commissioners Association, Missouri Young Democrat Organization and Regional President of the Northeast Missouri County Commissioners Association. He has been active in numerous democrat campaigns and events for over 30 years. You can also find out more information by checking out his campaign web-site at www.lyndonbodeforcongress.com |

NEWS RELEASE June 20th, 2008 Flood of 2008 Marion County Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode (Pronounced BO-dee) who is a democrat candidate for the Missouri 9th Congressional District said that this week has been a very different kind of week in his campaign for the Missouri 9th Congressional District. Instead of campaigning, most of his time has been devoted to fighting the Mississippi River Floodwaters. On Thursday June 12th in a special meeting Marion County activated their Emergency Management Plan to help fight the Flood of 2008. Since that time they have been working with the four levee districts that span the Marion County border with the Mississippi River. Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode noted that two of the levees in Marion County are holding well. He stated that the West Quincy levee area and the levee within the City of Hannibal are doing well. However the Mark Bottoms levee area has already taken on some water and the South River Levee area is in a very touching situation. We are working hard to help the South River District meet their needs. On Wednesday, June 18th we held an emergency sand bagging operation at our Marion County Highway Facility in Palmyra to help meet their needs for more sand bags. The volunteer turn out for this quickly called operation was tremendous and we were able to send much needed reinforcements to them. Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode noted that the Mississippi River is predicted to crest at near record levels on Friday or Saturday of this week. While the day to day operations of the Bode for Congress Campaign have continued Bode hopes to fully resume his campaign schedule for the 9th Congressional District starting on Monday, June 23rd. We have seen all across the region a tremendous number of people volunteering to help out in this emergency flood situation. As Marion County Presiding Commissioner and a resident of Marion County I wish to say Thank You for your help. We will not forget your efforts you have made to help us!
